Hernias are weak spots that develops in or around a muscle wall and causes an abnormal exit of tissue or organ, most often it involves the abdomen, a loop of intestine may protrude form it at times. Groin hernias occur mostly in men and are most commonly of the inguinal type, may also develop in the scrotum. Abdominal hernia occurs when a portion of the intestine of fat bulges through the lower stomach wall (lower belly), often in the lower left or lower right.

An inguinal hernia can contain a portion of the small intestine in some people and even parts of the female reproductive organs in some women but are most common in men. Hernias can also develop near the navel; these are called paraumbilical hernias. These are most common in women who are overweight or have had several pregnancies.

A femoral hernia occurs in the femoral muscle of the upper front leg.  The weak spot slowly enlarges and becomes an opening.

Unless corrected, hernias will grow progressively worse. Usually, hernias are developed as a result of straining while lifting heavy objects but not always.

A strangulated hernia occurs when a loop of intestine is caught in the opening and becomes pinched, blocking the intestinal passage. This kind of hernia is considered an emergency and requires prompt surgical attention.

An incarcerated hernia occurs when protruding tissue can’t be pushed back into place, putting constant pressure or discomfort on a person’s body.

Simple remedies may be applied that aid the body in repairing. Eating a nourishing diet, supplemented by vitamins and minerals. Avoid all grease, meat, and junk foods. If you are overweight, it would be best to go on a cleansing program, to lose some weight and cleanse the system.
